You might look at someone’s adjusted gross income and see a couple hundred thousand dollars. Then you dig into the K-1 and find $2.5 million in retained earnings. Now you’re having a very different conversation.

That’s why trying to hide money during a divorce isn’t nearly as simple as moving things around and hoping nobody notices. Bank statements, tax returns, balance sheets, profit and loss statements and business records all leave information behind, and today’s technology gives financial professionals even more ways to put those pieces together.
