Every once in a while, you have to take a break from talking about money

Every once in a while, you have to take a break from talking about money and settle the debates that actually matter.

This episode somehow turned into a passionate discussion about Southern sweet tea, and let’s just say there were some very strong opinions. According to Ashley, bottled sweet tea doesn’t count, the tea-to-sugar ratio has to be just right, and if you’re serving it with the wrong ice, you’ve already lost.

Honestly, the conversation was less about tea and more about the fact that everyone has those random hills they’re willing to die on. For some people it’s coffee. For others it’s pizza. Around here, it’s sweet tea and barbecue.

So now we’re curious…

What’s your non-negotiable? And while you’re at it, tell us who has the best barbecue because we know this comment section is about to get interesting.

The expectations placed on fathers have changed.

The expectations placed on fathers have changed.

Providing financially is still important, but today that’s only one part of the role. Fathers are also expected to lead, communicate well, be emotionally present, build strong relationships with their kids, and create stability at home.

None of those responsibilities are wrong.

The challenge is that many men feel they’re supposed to excel at all of them simultaneously without ever talking about the pressure that comes with it.

The better we understand that pressure, the better equipped we are to support the people carrying it.
