One thing Ashley said in this conversation really hit me.
There’s a huge difference between feeling bad about something you did and feeling bad about who you are.
Most people have made financial mistakes. That’s normal. We’ve all spent money we shouldn’t have, ignored things we should have addressed, or made decisions we wish we could take back.
The problem is when the mistake becomes part of your identity.
Instead of saying, “I made a bad decision,” people start saying, “I’m bad with money.”
That’s where people get stuck.
Because it’s a lot easier to change a behavior than it is to change a belief about yourself.
